Terri Wise
Founder & CEO

Storytelling has always been at the heart of who I am. As a former news reporter, I spent years uncovering and sharing stories that mattered. But the most powerful stories, I realized, are the ones that shape young minds and open doors to a lifetime of learning. That realization led me to create Cupcake Tales—a mission-driven initiative dedicated to making literacy engaging, accessible, and fun for all children.

As Founder and CEO, I have the privilege of blending my love for storytelling with my passion for literacy, helping kids discover the magic of books and the confidence that comes with reading. Whether it’s through interactive literacy programs, creative storytelling experiences, or initiatives that bring books into classrooms and communities, Cupcake Tales is about more than reading—it’s about inspiring lifelong learners.

I’m grateful to lead an incredible team that shares this vision, and I can’t wait to continue this journey of empowering young readers—one story at a time.
Myah Reinhardt
Associate Director

Hi! I’m Myah, a University Honors student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, majoring in Political Science and French with a minor in Communications. I’m proud to have earned a spot on the Chancellor’s List—a reflection of my dedication to learning and growing every day.

I have a deep love for foreign languages, travel, and culture, and I truly believe in the power of education to connect people and open doors. That’s why I’m so passionate about literacy and giving back to the community. Being part of Cupcake Tales allows me to help children discover the magic of reading—because stories have the power to inspire, uplift, and transform lives.

My goal is to use what I’ve learned—both in the classroom and through my experiences—to empower others, whether that’s through literacy initiatives, cultural exchange, or community outreach. I’m so excited to be part of the Cupcake Tales team and to make a meaningful impact.
Chandu Changalvala
Community Programs Lead

Hello! My name is Chandu Changalvala, and I am currently a senior undergraduate Levine Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am pursuing a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Biology, and I hope to earn a Psy.D. to become a pediatric neuropsychologist in the future. Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering and working with children, especially when it involves books and learning! Children's literacy is very important to me because it plays a vital role in a child's development. Reading and learning can be enjoyable, and when a child believes this, they start to thrive and continue to do so!
Tanish Pai
Digital Content Lead

Hello! My name is Tanish Pai, I'm a Junior at Providence High School and the Digital Content Lead for Cupcake Tales. I am your point of contact for our Cupcake Tales YouTube Initiative and any other social media needs.

My love for reading began in first grade. Like our founder, my teacher was deeply passionate about reading. She encouraged me to read every day and even visited my home to read with me. We frequently took field trips to the Senior Living Center to share stories with the residents—an experience that deeply shaped my lasting enthusiasm for reading.

Beyond books, I also enjoy watching sports, playing video games, biking, and spending time in nature.

I am really excited to be a part of the team!

With each page of her book, Terri’s goal is to engage every child and inspire a love of reading. She knows a number of children across the country aren’t reading at grade level and understands the importance of making a change. That’s why Terri has taken her book a step further by creating The Cupcake Tales Foundation, a non-profit organization in the Carolinas. Her goal is to help children read at their required grade level to be successful in school and in life. Her mission can change a child’s life; her book can, too. How awesome it would be if every child had the ability to read it.
